Dr. Avery F. Browne, D.O.
Dr. Avery F. Browne, D.O. is the Medical Director of our AFC Urgent Care Centers in West Orange NJ and South Plainfield NJ. He is board-certified in Family Medicine and licensed to practice in New Jersey and New York. Prior to joining AFC Urgent Care, Dr. Browne served as an Attending Family Practice Physician at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, NY; a faculty member of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine; and a house physician at Christ Hospital in Jersey City, NJ. Dr. Browne has extensive prior experience working in urgent care centers. He currently serves as a team physician for all athletic programs at William Paterson University in Wayne, NJ; a ringside physician for USA Boxing and NY/NJ State Professional Boxing; and is a member of the NJ and NY State Athletic Commissions. Dr. Browne completed a fellowship in Sports Medicine at the Overlook Hospital in Summit NJ. He completed his residency in Family Medicine at the University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey’s School of Osteopathic Medicine in Stratford NJ where he served as Chief Resident at Barnert Hospital. Dr. Browne holds a D.O. degree from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine, prior to which he studied biological sciences at Rutgers University and obtained a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology.
Dr. Yumie Nishida, D.O.
Dr. Nishida is a staff physician at our AFC Urgent Care Centers in West Orange and South Plainfield. Dr. Nishida is a dual board certified in family medicine and neuromusculoskeletal/osteopathic manipulative medicine. She previously worked as a family medicine physician at the Everett Clinic, Washington. Dr. Nishida has completed an internship and residency training in an integrated family medicine and neuromusculoskeletal medicine program at the Botsford Hospital, Michigan. She has served as a chief resident of the neuromusculoskeletal medicine program. During her residency training, she also worked part-time at a Midwest Urgent Care, Michigan. She holds a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, Bradenton, Florida, where she has awarded a Dedication to the Primary Care Award in Family Medicine. She is fluent in Japanese.
Dr. Bassam N. Odatalla, M.D.
Dr. Bassam Odatalla is a staff physician at our AFC Urgent Care Center in South Plainfield. He is board-certified in family medicine and treats patients of all ages. Dr. Odatalla has worked extensively over several years as an urgent care staff physician, family medicine physician, and sports medicine physician with a variety of medical practices in New Jersey. Dr. Odatalla completed his residency in Family Medicine at Mount Sinai School of Medicine at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Paterson, NJ and received his Medical Doctor degree from Ross University School of Medicine in New Brunswick, NJ. He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in biology and psychology from Montclair State University in Montclair, NJ. Dr. Odatalla speaks four languages and is a member of the American Academy of Family Practice and the American Medical Association.
Dr. Shideh Doroudi, M.D.
Dr. Shideh Doroudi is a staff physician at our AFC Urgent Care Centers in South Plainfield and West Orange. She is board certified in family medicine and has most recently worked in a busy private outpatient practice in northern New Jersey where she also attended to hospital inpatients. Dr. Doroudi completed her family medicine residency at Saint Joseph’s Medical Center in Paterson, NJ where she served as Chief Resident. She holds a Master of Science in Sports Medicine & Health Science from The Chinese University of Hong Kong and received her Doctor of Medicine from Qazvin University of Medical Sciences. Dr. Doroudi has had extensive clinical experience working in emergency departments, orthopedics, and sports medicine as well as a background in clinical research and faculty positions. She is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American Medical Association. Dr. Doroudi’s interests include travel, history, and cooking.
Dr. Khaula Khalid, D.O.
Dr. Khaula Khalid is a staff physician at our AFC Urgent Care Centers in South Plainfield and West Orange. She is double board-certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease. Dr. Khalid serves as a Hospitalist at Bayshore Medical Center and has numerous years of clinical experience working as a physician at several urgent care centers and a cardiology practice in New Jersey. She completed her fellowship in Cardiology and her residency in Internal Medicine at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center. Dr. Khalid received her D.O. degree from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine at New York Institute of Technology. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Life Sciences from the New York Institute of Technology. Dr Khalid is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology as well as numerous professional groups such as the American College of Osteopathic Physicians.
